The Weeks Pick – Workbench Style

workbenchRight I have decided I need to do some weekly feature on the blog to help make it more manageable and keep me focused.  “The Weeks Pick” will feature one of our favourite new piece’s from our store Dig Haüshizzle. We will also show many styling ideas and in a inspiration/moodboard fashion will show how such a piece can work in different settings and maybe even have different uses.

This week we have had in a lovely workbench. We have had a few before and undoubtable we will have a few again. They are such versatile pieces that can fit into many types of home. They don’t just lend them selves to a rustic country look. We currently have in this early 20th century oak bench  with an in built vice and two drawers.

The top piece does come apart for the bench which is pretty handy seeing as it is super heavy! The patina to the wood is brilliant. The top is pretty flat with no wells or risen ledges. I personally really like the workbenches with long  shallower levels, but it can restrict its uses. We have this currently set up in the shop as a console table, it would look great as it is in a hallway or could really come into its own in a kitchen to do some work on.  There are a few workbench ideas and inspirations below.

The above workbench is currently available at Dig Haüshizzle and is £535

I have put this one in first mainly because the whole room just looks beautiful. I really love the industrial windows that are just in shot with the warm rustic colours of the woods and the greys, metals and concrete gives it a more modern look. The workbench works really well in this room as a functional piece of furniture. There is many kitchen items stored below and the top is obviously free to get some prep done.

Workbench bar style, we have a little bar area at home needless to say its more of a tray than any actual form of bar but something about all the spirit bottles together does look great. (Ours is very heavily whiskey based).  These are two very similar small workbenches but in totally different settings.  Obviously darker generally appeals to me but the light and bright works really well and both can easily fit into modern homes and environments.

Just keeping it simple, also helps that it is beautifully lit.

Layered up, bench upon bench upon shelves, definitely somewhere I would like to try and get some work done.
