At Dig Haüshizzle we are very lucky to often get a glimpse into the world of other people homes. Its great to see the pieces we have found find there new home and we thought maybe we should share some of these fabulous homes with you as I suppose we are all just a little intrigued at whats behind closed doors and there is always so many new ideas to come across.

The House Tour // Jill and Greg // Greg is Head of HR  at EDF energy and Jill is Co-owner at Henry and owner of House of Henry  // Bristol

This is the fabulous home of Jill and Greg with a great mixture of styles. They have lived here just under a year and boy has Jill been getting those painting overalls on. On my first visit it was a very very blue and floral house but you could see how it was all coming together. Coming back now to see it for the shoot was a huge transformation and with no doubt in Jills impeccable style I knew before I even got there how special this house was going to be. Jill is South African and Greg is Australian which really reflects in the treasures in their home whether its a driftwood river angel or a Juju Hat. Jill is one half of  HENRY. A fabulous store on Long Street in Cape Town “a fine purveyor of Nostalgia” for “the once-offs and the hard-to-finds” from designer vintage clothing to fabulous Danish brands. HENRY really does have some freaking cool pieces photographed brilliantly.

“The lounge is a mix of vintage and new pieces, the Danish chairs are covered in vintage liberty print fabric in grey Hebe. The mirror is an antique find. The cow hide is from London and the walls are painted in manor house grey by Farrow and Ball.”

“The dining refectory table is from Dig Haüshizzle, the dining chairs are by Charlotte Perriand les arcs chairs, the shell chandelier was found in second hand shop in Bristol and was originally a planter but adapted to be a chandelier. The painting is an oil done by my grandmother. The antlers are from Dig Haüshizzle.”

“The kitchen has been updated by painting it white with accents of grey and black. The dining table was being thrown out by a friend so I painted the top grey and gave it some TLC, chairs are by Bertoia and are vintage. The ink painting was commissioned by artist Kate Mackerson and the industrial lights are from Dig Haüshizzle. The retro Egg chair was from a reclamation yard in Manchester.”

A few words to Jill //

Jill Where do you find inspiration for your home?

” Having worked as a Fashion Buyer in London and abroad I am constantly interested and drawn to fabrics, textures and colour. I find inspiration almost anywhere and constantly look through books on antiques and get a lot of ideas on our travels to South Africa and Australia.Favourite magazines are Elle decoration and Vogue.Inspirational interiors, L’Albiousse in Uzes.”

Are you enjoying living in Bristol and could you pass on your recommendations of  the best things you like to do ?

Having lived in London, Manchester and now Bristol it’s fair to say we have moved around a fair bit! We absolutely adore Bristol it’s got abit if everything and finally we are putting down roots! The people are friendly and we love to have dinner at The Rummer and Bells Diner ,for interiors Dig Haushizzle for one off pieces and Stokes Croft for its quirky blend of grunge meets Eco delis and independent boutiques , it reminds us a lot of Melbourne! Also the Milk Thistle for cocktails.

Do you have a most treasured item?

Most treasured item are my les arcs chairs.Of course being so far away from our families we treasure our black and white family photographs.

Whats your next plans for the house?

Next year we will be doing some much needed work on the bathrooms.

Will we be luckily enough to see anything of HENRY in the UK anytime soon?

House of Henry will be launching in the UK next year…which will be selling unique items for the home.

Thanks so much to Jill and Greg for having us in their lovely home and Thanks to Jill for a fabulous day shooting loved getting to see some of the contents of your amazing wardrobe too !
